Hunger
relief

In a city like ours, hunger is not visible the way it is elsewhere.

Not a distant problem

It shows up as a skipped meal, as children who cannot concentrate in an afternoon class, as an elderly person who eats once a day.

What we do

  1. Ration distribution

Staples to families identified through local schools, anganwadis and community contacts.

  2. Meals at institutions

Regular food service at orphanages, old age homes and hospitals in the area.

  3. Disaster and emergency response

When flooding or another emergency hits the city, food and water go out first.

  4. Nutrition for children

Supplementary nutrition where schools identify children who need it.

Food and rations reach families through the schools and anganwadis that already know them.

Our work so far

Lions Club Konankunte is compiling the dated record: how many families were supported, and how many meals served. It will be published here, counted and correct, rather than estimated.

The next distribution

Help with the next distribution.

Dates are set a few weeks ahead. Ring the club and we will tell you when and where the next one is.
